What does this mean to you?
- Customers that reside in a ABG TP service area may be eligible for a subsidised broadband service.
- All exisitng Broadband Connect customers remain fully supported as per the original Broadband Connect agreement.
Customers who wish to proceed with a Broadband Anywhere connection without the ABG TP subsidy are requested to contact Broadband Anywhere to discuss the full installation costs.

Broadband Connect Overview (formerly HiBIS)
Broadband Connect is a subsidy for Carriers and other registered Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who provide broadband services to regional, rural and remote Australia that are equivalent in functionality and price to that offered in the metropolitan area. Broadband Connect is a Government initiative provided by the Department of Communications, IT & the Arts.
Registered ISPs receive a subsidy payment for each Broadband Connect service provided to an eligible customer. Providers are able to use these payments to roll out new broadband infrastructure and to cover the expense of customer installs and hardware costs.
Am I an eligible Broadband Connect customer?To be eligible for the Broadband Connect subsidy when connecting to a broadband service you must be in a Broadband Connect eligible area (use the Am I Eligible for Broadband Connect map on the DCITA website) and be:
Terms and Conditions of the Broadband Connect Service
- Broadband Connect is an Australian Government initiative.
- Incentive Payment available for the Broadband Connect Provider on connection of a Broadband Connect Service is $1,540 or $3,300, conditions apply.
- The Threshold Services is to achieve average data download and upload speeds of at least 60 per cent of the Service’s specified peak speeds at least 75 per cent of the time, as measured according to a prescribed Broadband Connect testing schedule.
- The Added Value Services is to achieve average data download and upload speeds of at least 60 per cent of the Service’s specified peak speeds at least 75 per cent of the time, as measured according to a prescribed Broadband Connect testing schedule.

- Summary of the Broadband Connect process for registering Customer complaints about their Service.
(1) the Customer should seek to resolve the issue with their Broadband Connect Provider in the first instance;
(2) if the Customer considers that their Provider’s response has not been satisfactory, they should then contact DCITA to seek resolution;
(3) depending on the nature of the complaint, DCITA may in some cases refer the Customer on to the TIO for further action or investigation

To receive a Broadband Anywhere service your premises must have line of sight to one of our network access points. If this is not possible, we may be able to extend our network to include your premises in our coverage area. View our current network coverage to see if the service is available to you.

Customer Premises Equipment
In order to connect to the Broadband Anywhere network you will require an External Wireless Receiver (CPE) and an external antenna ( if required). Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and installation is FREE for Broadband Connect Eligible Customers. The Broadband Connect Service does not include a VoIP service or equipment to receive a VoIP service.

Activation and Installation
A standard install includes installation of a mast, or use of an existing TV mast on your premises. Where tree cover inhibits line of site to our network access points you may require installation of an additional antenna and mounts, which is not covered by Broadband Connect.
If additional installation is required such as a larger mast the installation (including labour and parts) will be at your expense. An approximation of an installer's rate is $88/hour.
Installation in the majority of cases will be made within 10 working days, however you should allow up to 28 days for installation in difficult circumstances.
Broadband Anywhere wireless services are only available in the active areas listed on the network coverage page . You may also register your interest if you are in an area in testing.
